Technical Training at Landscapes 2018 (English Agenda)

This new technical training program, a collaboration of the National Association of Landscape Professionals and the National Hispanic Landscape Alliance, has been designed for landscape company crew members and foremen seeking to increase their skills and knowledge and interested in pursuing CLT certification.  The program will feature training in indoor and outdoor settings with tracks offering parallel learning experiences in either English or Spanish.

Unlock your inner math skills with those formulas and practices needed to correctly calculate for lawn care, landscape maintenance and installation.

Identifying Turf Problems
Clint Walz
Real-world case studies demonstrate the importance of identification of biotic and abiotic turfgrass issues, including pests, pesticide-related and environmental injuries.  Tips for communicate with consumers to set reasonable expectations will be shared.

1:15pm – 2:45pm
Pruning the Right Way – Part I
Marcus Duck
This session will cover the art and science of pruning and training landscape ornamentals (woody trees, shrubs, and vines along with herbaceous perennials). You will learn the basics of plant anatomy and physiology and how to implement proper pruning practices.
